The Resume is Dead

A few months back I had the pleasure of working with Nelson Wang, author of several books, exceedingly smart dude, and a dear friend. Nelson needed a cover for his new book, The Resume is Dead. He had chosen a provocative title, and needed a cover that would stand out from the endless thumbnails on Amazon and really compel the reader to dig in.

We brainstormed a few ideas, and I created 3 rough layouts to discuss and start from. The solid green cover had some great feedback, as did the more cartoony one. We decided that a playful approach to the title worked best, and the next step was finalizing the illustration and fine-tuning the design. After a few tweaks to the text, color and layout, we settled on the final cover.

I couldn’t be happier with the end result, and readers seem to love it as well. You can pick it up here.
