I’ve recently found myself being giddily rediscovering street art. The massive format, the unusual locations, the differing techniques all make seeing art outside a very different experience than the controlled experience of a gallery show. There’s something immensely appealing about being surprised by beauty when you least expect it; about finding it when it’s just [...]
It’s been a while since I saw a video that made my jaw drop and felt was worthy of Moment of Zen status, but Wizard Smoke fits the bill to a tee. I’m loving the juxtaposition between organic and mechanical forms in this film by Jp Frenay. This moment of zen is brought to you by Artificial Paradise Inc.
Came across this beautiful short by Terri Timely today on the subject of Synesthesia. The cinematography in this film is stunning and there’s a very nice arc in the story which starts of gradually and builds like a complex piece of music.
This beautiful short stars Audrey Tautou and was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet for Chanel No 5 perfume. The film builds an amazing amount of anticipation in its 2:20 run-time. Even without dialogue, beautiful cinematography really brings the narrative to life.
Came across this delicious time-lapse example of what some experimentation, creative lighting, and goo can do. Something about the subject is so sensual that its completely mesmerizing. Enjoy Goo (HD) from Timo Rychert on Vimeo.

The flow in this clip is fantastic, and down-right mesmerizing… as long as you watch it with the volume down because, unfortunately, it’s selling investments. The youtube clip doesn’t [...]
