This past Friday there were a few openings around LA I wanted to catch. The plan was to make a trek across the city beginning with Thinkspace Gallery in Silverlake and ending at C.A.V.E in Venice. Here is some of the work that blew me away.
I’m loving the juxtaposition between organic and mechanical forms in this film by Jp Frenay. This moment of zen is brought to you by Artificial Paradise Inc.
Came across this beautiful short by Terri Timely today on the subject of Synesthesia. The cinematography in this film is stunning and there’s a very nice arc in the story which starts of gradually and builds like a complex piece of music.
This little ice cube is a presence which can both ignite the body and chill the heart. Images and process video inside.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted some sketches, so here are a few more. It’s fun going back through old books and seeing pages because the drawings end up being a lot like a diary for me – a visual manifestation of events which becomes a code only I can decipher.
This beautiful short stars Audrey Tautou and was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet for Chanel No 5 perfume. The film builds an amazing amount of anticipation in its 2:20 run-time. Even without dialogue, beautiful cinematography really brings the narrative to life.
